CCCMF meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Valley Christian Church.
The guest speaker will be Richard Thomason.

Fairview Baptist
The Adult Choir of Fairview Baptist Church, 585 Watauga Road, will present the Easter cantata “Finished” Sunday, April 13, at 7 p.m.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“Don’t You Know” is the sermon theme for morning worship Sunday, April 13, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City. The sermon text is Rom. 6:1-11.
Morning worship will be held at 1 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Sunday School and Bible study will be held at 9:15 a.m.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
The Maundy Thursday service will be April 17 at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is “Lead Us Not Into Temptation” based on scripture from Ex. 12: 1-14.
A Good Friday service will be held April 18 at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is “Deliver Us From Evil” based on Isa. 52: 13-53: 12.

Elizabethton Church
of the Nazarene
Revival will continue through Sunday at the Elizabethton Church of the Nazarene. Services tonight and Saturday will be at 7 p.m.. and at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
Homecoming will be observed Sunday with dinner following the morning worship service.
Special singing will be presented by “No Name But His,” who will sing at both morning worship and at the lunch hour.
The evening service will begin at 6 p.m.
The guest speaker for the revival services is the Rev. Brian Nave of the Decherd Church of the Nazarene in Decherd, Tenn.

The Roan Mountain Church of God will host a Men’s Prayer Breakfast Saturday, April 12, at 9 a.m.

Big Springs Baptist Church will begin its Easter Week Celebration Palm Sunday with Sunday School at 10 a.m. followed by the worship service at 10:45 a.m.
Following the morning service a “Welcome to Spring” cookout will be held followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for the children and young at heart.
There will be competitions for the best Easter Bonnet and Necktie.

First Christian
“The Greatest Story Ever Told,” a sermon in song, will be presented Sunday, April 13, by Minister John and Mary Smith at the morning service at First Christian Church of Elizabethton.
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
At the evening service at 6 p.m. Janie Broyles and Lorrie Case will share about their trip to Bethshean Ministries in Mexico and Dr. David Mills will share about his Mission Trip With Vets With A Mission to Vietnam.

First Presbyterian
Passion/Palm Sunday will be celebrated April 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton.
The theme of the sermon for morning worship is “Practicing His Preaching” based on Matt. 21: 1-17.
Pastor John Shuck in commenting on the message said, “Through the season of spring we have heard Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Holy Week begins with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem and his enactment of the Sermon on the Mount. His sermon is a call to radical commitment to justice despite the cost. Jesus showed the way.”
Following the worship service, there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for the children. Participants are asked to bring six hard-boiled egg or plastic treat-filled eggs and a basket for collecting treasures.
The congregation will also have a Second Sunday Social with light refreshments and a fellowship time.

Oak Street
The worship choir of Oak Street Baptist Church will present the Easter musical “Finished” Easter Sunday at the 10 a.m. worship service.
The musical, written by Marty Parks, will be presented with orchestral players from the area.
Good Friday, there will be a Secret Church Simulcast from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the church. The theme of the service is “The Cross and Everyday Life.”

Calvary Baptist
Calvary Baptist will host a Secret Church Simulcast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Good Friday, April 18.
Secret Church gatherings are held to engage in an intense six-hour Bible study as participants identify with and pray for persecuted brothers and sisters around the globe.
The theme of this year’s study is “The Cross and Everyday Life.”

First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton will celebrate Palm Sunday April 13 with the sermon “Palms of Victory” based on Matt. 21: 1-11 at the 10 a.m. worship service.
Sunday School will begin at 11:20 a.m.
The Men’s Prayer Group will meet Sunday at 9 a.m. in Room 108.
The Sunday evening Bible study will be at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
UMY will meet Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the youth house. The G2s will meet Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the youth house and the Coolagers on Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.
The Lenten Study “A Spirituality of Homecoming” will conclude with the study Wednesday at 7 p.m.
A Maundy Thursday with communion will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the church sanctuary.

Jackson Park Church of the Brethren, 100 Oak Grove Ave., Jonesborough, will host the “Love Feast” Thursday, April 17, at 6 p.m.
A “Son” rise service will be held Sunday, April 20, at 7 a.m. and will include the changing of the rugged cross into a beautiful floral cross that will remain in the church yard.

Borderview
The Adult Choir of Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will present the Easter musical “The Day He Wore My Crown” Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m. and again Easter Sunday, April 20, at 10:45 a.m.
The musical, arranged by Russell Mauldin, is a reminder that Christ was the sacrifical lamb for mankind.
This exciting musical with beautiful video accompaniment will feature Kathy West and Ray Don Markland as soloists.

New Liberty
New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate the Easter season with special singing in the services leading up to Easter Sunday.
The New Liberty Revival Choir will provide special music during the morning worship service Sunday and Kirk Carrier will be the featured soloist during the evening service.
