Mark the bait: Kids’ catfish bash set for June 14Published 8:42am Friday, May 30, 2014
A quiet pond at the Workforce Development Complex will transform into Catfish Central on June 14 when the
fishing lines are thrown for the 5th Annual Kids’ Catfish Tournament.
The Great Lakes Pond will be a great place for kids ages 12 and under — and parents, well-wishers and fishing mentors — as they crowd the banks to compete in different age categories to see who can catch the largest and the most catfish.
Of course, catfish won’t be the only thing the youngsters will have the chance to hook: Free hot dogs and drinks will be provided by the Workforce Development Complex.
And while the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, the Carter County Workforce Development Complex and Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 538 are combining to provide food, fun, fish and fellowship, the competitors do have to provide their own pole, catfish bait and chairs.
Registration begin at 8 a.m.
