Patsy Benton Glass

Patsy Benton Glass, 71, Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014, at Holston Valley Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Newell “Hook” Benton and Helen Hardin Davenport and husband A.B.
Patsy was a 1960 graduate of Elizabethton High School, where she was a cheerleader, and attended East Tennessee State University. Patsy was a flight attendant from 1963 to 1998 with Piedmont Airlines and US Air. She was on the first Trans-Atlantic flight by Piedmont Airlines from Charlotte to London. As a Senior Flight Attendant, she traveled all over Europe. At the end of her career she flew domestic flights.
Patsy was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Donnelly.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. “Bobby” Glass; a nephew, Mike Donnelly, Elizabethton; a niece, Lisa Donnelly Broome and husband Al, Bluffton, S.C.; a great-niece, Lucy Myers Webb and husband Jeremy, Port Royal, S.C.; a special cousin, Wayne King and wife Peggy, Wytheville, Va.; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Edward Glass and wife Jackie, Kenneth Glass and wife Fran, Gary Wayne Glass, Mike Glass and wife Nancy, Carolyn Hodges, Ruth Willis and husband John and Betty Widener and husband Sam, all of Johnson City.
Funeral services for Ms. Glass will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Graveside services and entombment will follow the service in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Charles White, Kenneth White, Gary Glass, Mike Glass, John Willis and Sam Widner. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Piedmont and US Air, members of the Birthday Club and her church family. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until time for the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 East F Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family respectfully request that there be no food brought to the residence.
