Michael Brandon Estep

Michael Brandon Estep, 33, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 9, 2014, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. He was born January 17, 1981 in Johnson City and was a lifelong resident of Carter County.
Brandon graduated from Happy Valley High School in 1999. He was a long-time employee of Jersey Mike’s in Johnson City and Rockies’ Pizza in Erwin. Brandon was an avid sports fan, especially for his beloved Pittsburg Steelers, Jeff Gordon, UNC Tar Heels, the Atlanta Braves and the Orlando Magic. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially at NASCAR races and poker night. Brandon never met a stranger and he touched many lives and was loved by them all. He always had that “Big E” grin on his face. Although his time ended much too soon, he lived every day to its fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. Brandon will be truly missed by those fortunate enough to have known him. “Yeah Ya Know”.
He was preceded in death by his father/grandfather, Billy Joe Hughes, and his grandmother, Patricia Ann Hughes.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Debbie and Jerry Miller of Johnson City; two brothers, Jerry Miller and Billy Miller; a sister, MaKayla Miller; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Brandon will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City, with Rev. Bill Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his two brothers, and very special friends, Colby Orren, Jonathan Moore, Lawrence Gore, Sam Curde, Dustin Vonglis, James Weir, Scott Wine and Matt Foster.
