Sims – Shafer

Announcement is made of the engagement and upcoming marriage of Ashley Sims of Elizabethton and Matthew Lee Shafer of Bristol.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Jennifer Sims of Elizabethton and the late Carroll Sims. She is the granddaughter of Linda Peters of Elizabethton.

Ashley attended Unaka High School and Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science. She is music minister of Freedom Fellowship Center.

Her fiancé is the son of Melvin and Vicky Shafer of Bristol.

Matthew is a graduate of Tennessee High School. He is on the coaching staff of the Tennessee High football team and is employed at DPI in Piney Flats.

The couple will be married during an open ceremony at Oak Street Baptist Church in Elizabethton on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 2 p.m.
