Lady Cyclones play D-B tough, lose 2-1

Despite a valiant defensive effort, Elizabethton’s Lady Cyclones (3-1) lost their match-up against Dobyns-Bennett 2-1 on Tuesday night at Brown-Childress Stadium.

With the majority of game play on the Cyclones’ side of the pitch, Elizabethon was overwhelmed by the Lady Indians’ speed and ball movement.

“They play faster,” said Elizabethton head coach Bill McClay. “We need to be able to play that fast. Once we get the ball we have to have the confidence to keep it. We need to work harder to keep the ball. You saw when we did, we knocked the ball around on their side of the field. We need to do that a lot more often.”
