Church Hill used the “ground-and-pound” to snap a 16-game losing streak on Thursday.

Happy Valley stood toe-to-toe in the fourth quarter, down a score, but the Panters used a deep pass from Chance Johnson to Andrew Murph late to secure a 14-0 win on Warrior Hill during a rainy night.

“I thought we came out and executed with the ball well,” Church Hill head coach Chuck McLain said. “These kind of conditions, we couldn’t throw the ball well so we lined up and just tried to run it at them.
