Betty Maxwell, 86, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lena Maxwell.
Betty graduated from Harry Harding High School, Charlotte, N.C., and went on to work for nearly 40 years for the Federal Government. She enjoyed her career until she retired and moved to Elizabethton.
Betty had a great love for animals, especially her cats and the many wild birds and creatures on her property in Valley Forge.
The family is holding a private memorial to honor Betty’s life.
