Candidate reports election signs stolen, vandalized

A candidate for Elizabethton’s City Council reported stolen and vandalized campaign signs to the Elizabethton Police Department over the weekend.
Sam Shipley told the EPD two signs had been stolen and one sign had been vandalized some time between 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday.
According to the police report, Shipley said the signs were 3-foot by 4-foot with the wording “Elect Sam Shipley.”
The signs had been located near Eden’s Fireworks on West Elk Avenue, the intersection of West Elk Avenue and Ward Street and West G Street and Bemberg Street.
The signs were valued at $300.
