Imagination Library sets April Hall of Fame date

The Carter County Imagination Library has set the date for its upcoming Educators Hall of Fame Celebration dinner.
The CCIL Board has chosen Saturday, April 25, for the celebration.
This will be the ninth year the Imagination Library has hosted the Educators Hall of Fame. The ceremony honors retired educators from the Carter County and Elizabethton City school systems. Each year two retired educators, one living and one deceased, from each system are inducted into the hall of fame.
Past inductees to the Hall of Fame from the Carter County School System have been Margaret Broome, 2008; Kate Ensor, 2013; Janet Erickson, 2012; Helen Finney, 2006; John H. Harding, 2013; Newland Hyder, 2007; James G. “Buddy” Jones, 2011; Margaret Jones, 2010; Cathy Ogg, 2009; Jack Pearman, 2009; Edna Potter, 2007; James Potter, 2006; Glenda Ranshaw, 2008; Mary Rasar, 2011; Zola Shankle, 2012 and Glen Tester, 2010.
Past inductees from the Elizabethton City Schools have been Bill Armstrong, 2010; Frank Baker, 2013; Gertrude Bishop, 2011; Mary Emma Brown, 2012; Willie Church, 2013; Harry Fine, 2010; Sam Greenwell, 2009; Thomas J. Harville, 2009; Jobelle Hood, 2008; Melville Kelly, 2008; Anna Kinch, 2012; Charles Lipford, 2006; Donna Netherland, 2006; Reuben Pierce, 2007; Fannie Stover, 2011 and Bertie Summerlin, 2007.
Once a teacher has been inducted they cannot be chosen again.
Applications will be accepted from Jan. 4 to March 27. Applications can be picked up at the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library and will be available at www.facebook.com/educatorshalloffame.
