Gene Taylor, 58, of Johnson City, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Gene was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Annie Ruth Taylor. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Taylor, and a brother, Terry Taylor.
Gene had worked as a salesman in the automotive industry and was currently employed at Borla Performance Industries.
Survivors include his daughters, Jasmine Taylor and Genine Taylor, both of Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Jailen Taylor, Raekwon Watts, Aiyana Watts and Jayla Griffin, all of Greenville, S.C.; and a sister, Helena Ruth “LuLu” Gamble, Columbus, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
It was Mr. Taylor’s wishes to be cremated. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.tetrickfuneralhome.com and signing the tribute wall.
