The Jr. Bulldogs came close, but not close enough Thursday night at Hampton Middle School.

Despite a third-quarter rally that pushed the Jr. ’Dogs within four points of Johnson County, Hampton could not overcome the offensive charge led by Jr. Longhorns’ Zach Eller, who spearheaded his team’s 40-31 victory.

“We have been kind of discouraged,” said Longhorns head coach Lisa Arnold. “This is our third conference game. We have been able to win all of our non-conference games. And this is our fist conference win. We are very happy about that.”
