Darrell Wayne Hall, 65, 5107 Unicoi Drive, Unicoi, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Leroy and Tempia Hodge Hall.
Darrell “Wayne” was a pipefitter and had worked in construction for many years. He attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Bakersville, N.C., and Zion Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
Darrell “Wayne” was a loving family man, who made a living as a craftsman and passed those traits onto his sons. He enjoyed studying history and spent his time fishing, hunting, enjoying the lake and recently traveling with his wife and friend, Madge. His favorite pastime was playing music and singing; he was a musical inspiration and shared his talents with many.
Someday, we will see those rough, calloused, metal-working fingers strum a guitar again. May you smile like never before and sing for your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Sherman Thomas Leonard.
Survivors include his loving wife, Madge Cook Hall, of the home; three sons, Anthony Wayne Hall and wife, Kim, of Johnson City, Donnie Kyle Hall and wife, Kim, of Jonesborough and Ronnie Lee Hall and wife, Joy, of Elizabethton; two step-sons, Richard Ray and wife, Sheila, of Knoxville, and Kevin Ray of Kingsport; two sisters, Brenda Leonard and Wilma Dugger and husband, Alfred, all of Johnson City; three brothers, Mike Hall and wife, Joann, of Kingsport, Bruce Hall and wife, Sharon, of Johnson City, and Steve Hall and wife, Kelly, of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Chasity, Keelie, Blake, Forrest and Corteney Hall; two great-granddaughters, Amzie Hackney and Ember Few; very special friends, Burl Mast, Billy Lane, Paul and Lori Wise; also a host of friends and many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
A Celebration of Life Service for Darrell “Wayne” will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 22, at Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, with Dr. Alan King, Rev. Alvin Baker, Donnie and Bruce Hall officiating. Special music will be provided by his family. The family will greet friends at the church from noon until the service hour. Interment will follow in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donnie, Ronnie, Tony, Bruce, Mike, Steve and Forrest Hall and Billy Lane.
