Danny William Eggers, 64, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 24, 2014, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Ruah Turbyfill Eggers.
Prior to his retirement, Danny was employed as a brick mason laborer.
Danny loved sports and was involved with the Athletic Department of Unaka High School. He enjoyed going to the Elizabethton Little League and the Elizabethton Twins games. He was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Eggers; a nephew, Travis Eggers; and a sister-in-law, Glenda Eggers.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Timothy Milhorn, Telford, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Milhorn; three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jimmy Eggers and Gary and Barbara Eggers, all of Elizabethton, Eddie Joe and Regina Eggers, Sanford, N.C., and Diane Eggers of Florida; and his nieces and nephews, Chris Eggers, Jeff Eggers, Jackson Eggers, Stephanie Neal, Cole Sieber, Kynley Neal and Caity David.
Funeral services for Mr. Eggers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Johnson, the Rev. Bill Greer and Mr. Hunter Greene officiating. Music will be provided by the Praise Choir of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews, Chris, Jeff and Jackson Eggers, Stephanie Neal, Cole Sieber, Kynley Neal and Caity David, his special friends, employees of Food City, employees of the Carter County Courthouse, Rosa Colbaugh, Mike Whitson and Ms. Fox, and his many other special friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Timothy Milhorn, 110 Moccasin Trail, Telford, or the residence of a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Barbara Eggers, 472 Dry Hollow Road, Elizabethton.
