Johnson County jumped out to an early 14-4 lead to crank up a 62-53 victory over the homestanding ’Landers on Monday night inside Sonny Smith Gymnasium.

“We fought so hard in the first of the game, and we dictated the tempo,” Johnson County head coach Austin Atwood said. “I thought Gary did a great job with Cloudland to make them fight back and not give up. You hate to have a game like that when you have a four-game week, and I’m super proud of our kids for staying in there and battling because I have been beat here with a lot of good teams. It is a good win for us.”
