On Saturday night at VanHuss-White Gymnasium, the Hampton Bulldogs put on a defensive clinic against Happy Valley in a non-conference 59-28 win.

The ‘Dogs forced tempo and turnovers on the Warriors, who fell into a 25-6 halftime hole and never could climb out.

“Right out of the gate I thought our defense was good,” said Bulldogs head coach Ned Smith. “I thought our press was effective and I thought our halfcourt defense was good as well. I thought we positioned ourselves well and boxed out well.”
