Margaret O. Bowers, 67, of the Stoney Creek Community, joined her husband in Heaven on Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center. Margaret was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Stuart and Mammie Jenkins Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Wayne Bowers.
Mrs. Bowers worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Rebecka L. Bowers of the Stoney Creek Community; Ted Welch and wife Ellen Smith and Tonya Range and husband Keith, whom she thought of as her children; special friends, Ken Goins, Hampton, Mr. Harry Watson, Johnson City, Mike and Sherry Street and their family, of the Stoney Creek Community, and Abby Morris-Frye and husband Stephen, also of the Stoney Creek Community; her loving work family at Ivy Hall Nursing Home; and her loving companion, Parker.
A service to honor the life of Margaret O. Bowers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Rusty Verran officiating. Music will be under the direction of Tonya Range. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, to go in procession. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy and Victor Deloach and Abby, Lisa and Tessa of Ivy Hall. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 N. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643, to help with funeral expenses.
