Police are investigating a break-in at the Milligan College Field House that occurred over the weekend.

On Sunday, police responded to the college on a report of a break-in, Elizabethton Police Department Officer Dustin Johnson said. Upon arrival, Johnson spoke with the college’s Director of Property and Risk Management William Nipper, who said Milligan baseball coach Nathan Meade discovered the break-in Sunday morning.

Meade arrived at the field house and found the door knob leading into the south side of the building had been broken off.

After the burglars broke into the field house, they also broke the door knob off of the door leading into the soccer locker room, Nipper told Johnson.

None of the other doors leading into the baseball, softball or coaches locker rooms were damaged in the break in, Johnson said.

At the time the break in was reported nothing was found to be missing, but Nipper said he would have the coaches and students do a thorough check later to make sure.
