Mary Alice Bice Potter

Mary Alice Bice Potter, 78, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born on December 1, 1936 to the late Walter and Lena Morris Bice Vines.
Mary lived with her daughter, Lorrie Wilson, in Mountain City, Tenn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Potter; two sons, Jimmy Potter and Donald Lynn Potter; and a sister, Patsy White.
Mary was a wonderful wife and a very special loving mother. She was a great friend and a kind and generous person to everyone. Mary was very proud of her children and grandchildren and was the greatest grandmother. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Community Church of Mountain City. Mary loved her church family very much.
Mary is survived by four daughters and two sons, Danny Ray Potter and wife Jenny of Boone, N.C., Sandra Jean Stout and husband Jim of Mountain City, Tenn., Lorrie Wilson and Jack McElyea of Mountain City, Tenn., Shirley Little-Kelly and husband Ray of Johnson City, Tenn., Johnny Potter and AnnaLiese Slobecheski and her son, Shane, of Mountain City, Tenn., and Patty Ann Potter and husband Wayne Crews of Boomer, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, Michael Potter, Michelle Potter, Crystal Osborne, Sandra Roark, Jamie Stout, Amy Stout, David Campbell, Junie Wilson, Corey Johnson, Joseph Potter and Travis Potter; seven great-grandchildren, Takoda Roark, Ella Grace Phillips, Travis Roark, Christina Osborne, Joseph Osborne, Ethan Campbell and Eric Blade Campbell; and special friends, Billie Harrison, Birdie Long, Susie Arwood, Alice Roberts, Lou Roberts and Susan Shipe.
Funeral services for Mary Alice Bice Potter will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Drake officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Johnny Potter, Jack McElyea, Wayne Crews, Joseph Potter, Junie Wilson, David Campbell and Shane Slobecheski. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Stout and Ray Kelly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
