2015 Glow Ball Tournament set

Friday, visitors to the Elizabethton Golf Course will be in for a strange site as the course holds its 2015 Glow Ball Tournament.
And it is exactly what it sounds like. Golfers, once the sun goes down, will use golf balls equipped with glow sticks, and will not be allowed to use any other light source when hitting the ball.
“It is a lot of fun,” golf course board member Mike Matheson said. “It is really hard hitting the ball in the dark.”
The tournament, which is three-person select shot, will start at 5:15 p.m., and the first nine holes will be played during the daylight. However, the fun won’t start until the sun drops behind the horizon, and the golfers begin the last eight holes in the dark.
The tournament is free to watch, and many people usually turn out to watch the golfers try their best to hit their golf balls in the dark.
