Jasper James “Jake” Teague

Jasper James “Jake” Teague, 82, of Blountville, Tenn., passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Bristol Regional Hospital. He was born on September 18, 1932 in the Happy Valley Section of Carter County, the youngest child of Oscar Lee and Laura Mae Sammons Teague.
Mr. Teague was a graduate of Mary Hughes High School, Piney Flats. He was a retired Staff Sgt. from the Missile Command of the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He moved from St. Matthews, S.C., to Blountville last July. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Verna Grace Dykes and Tina Nelma Woods, both of Johnson City, and his brothers, Jesse Dayton Teague of Livonia, Mich., Everette Kyle Teague of Johnson City, Albert Brice Teague of Cleveland, Ohio, and Orville Curtis Teague of Taylor, Mich.
He is survived by one sister-in-law, Kate Teague of Johnson City, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jasper James “Jake” Teague will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
