The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development in partnership with Tennessee Minor League Baseball has rescheduled Trail Night at the Ballpark for Aug. 12 at the Elizabethton Twins game. The event originally was set for tonight.
This event is part of a special summer campaign which showcases the 16 Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways to families and fans attending nine minor league games across the state.
The game will be the second of four Trail Night at the Ballpark events in the northeast Tennessee region that week. The Greeneville Astros will partner with TDTD on Aug. 7. The Johnson City Cardinals will serve as host August 13, while the Kingsport Mets will spotlight the trails on August 14.
The Trail Night at the Ballpark! campaign includes promotional items given to the first 200 fans at each stop; and one lucky fan at each game will win a Made in Tennessee gift basket. Trail partners will connect with fans at the ballpark, share trail brochures and coupons or offers for the trail’s points of interest.
“The Discover Tennessee driving trails are designed to showcase some of Tennessee’s most authentic off-the-beaten-path experiences,” said Commissioner Kevin Triplett, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “With trails such as Rocky Top and Sunny Side winding through this region, locals can take a Tennessee road trip right in their own back yard. It is the perfect summer adventure, Made in Tennessee.”
Tennessee’s minor league baseball games draw approximately 1.5 million attendees annually. Minor league teams in Tennessee are the Chattanooga Lookouts, Elizabethton Twins, Greeneville Astros, Kingsport Mets, Jackson Generals, Johnson City Cardinals, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds and Tennessee Smokies.
