Michael V. “Pete” Holtsclaw, 58, 0112 Jim Duffield Road, Butler, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Pete was a native of Carter County. He was a truck driver with Gordon Food Service and attended Little Milligan Baptist Church.
Pete loved old cars, fishing and horses.
He was preceded in death by his father, C.V. Holtsclaw.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Donna McQueen Holtsclaw; five children, Missy Blackwell, Erwin, Heather Richardson and husband Mike, Elizabethton, Michelle Holtsclaw, Roan Mountain, Dillon and Dalton Holtsclaw, both of the home; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; his mother, Elewese Street and husband Cecil, Elizabethton; two brothers, Kevin and Greg Holtsclaw, both of Elizabethton; and four sisters, Janice Birchfield, Roan Mountain, Shelia Bishop, Elizabethton, Karla Clark, Taylorsville, N.C., and Karen Eckard, Hildebrand, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Michael V. “Pete” Holtsclaw will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, in the Campbell Cemetery (Whaley Town Road) with the Rev. Sam Icenhour officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, will be Larry Whitehead, Jimmy Clawson, David Griffey, Jimmy Griffey, J.R. Campbell, Bill Griffey and Bart Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Otis Griffey, Johnny Campbell, Bearl Campbell, Bill Holden, Johnny Shell and James Clawson. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the nursing staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and Kelly at Home Health. Friends may visit with the family anytime at the residence.
