Barry Shelton Richardson, 66, of Somerset, Wis., went home to be with his Lord after a lengthy illness. Barry fought the good fight, he finished the race and he kept the faith. Barry was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to parents, Reece C. and Juanita (Asher) Richardson. After high school, Barry served in the United States Army.
Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Barry hit the road in what would become a career of over 47 years of truck driving. Barry was an owner/operator who accumulated well over 5 million miles in his time behind the wheel, driving to all of the states in the lower 48. Barry was a family man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and golfing. Time spent relaxing on his porch admiring the wonders of nature brought Barry much comfort and peace. He will be missed by family and friends alike.
Barry is survived by his loving wife, Susan; son, Jamison; daughter, Abigail (Phillip) Andert and their daughter, Sierra. He was also a loving brother and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Barry’s wishes, a private family service will be held on August 2 at the Taylor family cemetery in Stoney Creek.
