Milligan College softball is ready to “swing” into a new season in 2016, and will have the benefit of a new and improved home complex thanks to some recent renovations to the Anglin Softball Field this summer.

The major addition to the softball field is a brand new 6-foot fused vinyl-coated black fence that runs all the way around the dimensions of the field.

Other additions include a new batting cage with artificial turf and lights, allowing the Buffaloes to practice even at night, extra room in the dugouts, including storage space, and an improved press box, now with windows.

“I think the players will both be surprised and excited to see the renovations that have been done to their field,” said Head Coach Wes Holly. “Hopefully this will benefit our team early in the season, as we will have our own batting cage to utilize when we want. Thanks to the fundraising and support from the administration that has made these new renovations possible for the softball program.”

Assistant softball coach Wes Holly Jr. added, “It has been great this summer watching Milligan Athletics grow with upgrades and expansions for softball. We know more is coming soon!”
