The addition of 50 to 60 new self-storage units at USA Storage at 629 S. Sycamore St. was approved in a special called Regional Planning Commission meeting Thursday night.
Currently, they offer climate controlled storage, indoor boat and RV storage, outdoor parking and non-climate controlled units. The new units will not be climate controlled and will be located in the open space inside the fence with the current units.
These are being installed to accommodate the increasing demand for storage units.
“I think this will help a lot of people,” said Office Manager Carrie Jenkins.
Construction is estimated to be completed by early winter.
