This Saturday and Sunday, the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter invites all to attend its adoptathon at Petsense where there will be a bake sale, prize baskets and opportunities to adopt sponsored pets for only $20.
“Your best friend awaits,” said Shelter Director Stacey Heiden, encouraging people to come meet them today or at the adoptathon this weekend.
It will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Most dogs and cats available for adoption at teh event have been sponsored, so their adoption fee will be $20, and will include the spay or neuter, first rounds of booster vaccines, rabies vaccine and microchipping.
People are invited to bring baked goods for a bake sale at the event, from which all proceeds will go to the shelter. Donated baked goods may be delivered to Petsense between now and then to Sheila.
Dogs will be able to get a free nail trimming at the event, and pet owners may enter into a raffle to wn dog and cat gift baskets.
They need volunteers, especially Sunday, to help walk the dogs, setup and take down. Anyone interested may call the shelter at 423-547-6359.
