Beginning today, if you ask a McDonald’s employee if they are still serving breakfast, no matter what time it is, the answer will be “Yes.”
In response to customers’ requests, McDonald’s restaurants across the nation will now offer all-day breakfast.
Within one year, more than 120,000 people have tweeted McDonald’s, requesting the change, according to the company.
“We’re excited to offer all-day breakfast to our customers,” said Diane Washburn, president of the McDonald’s Association of Tri-Cities, Inc. “We’ve heard their voices, and it’s time to make it a reality for them. We appreciate and value customer feedback, and we’re looking forward to offering them the ability to enjoy breakfast at McDonald’s anytime.”
In the Tri-Cities, this means scratch-made biscuits, hotcake platters, sausage burritos, fruit and yogurt parfaits, oatmeal and hashbrowns any time of day. McCheddar bites, introduced in August on the breakfast menu, will now also be available all day.
Supervisor Tony Salyer of Shamrock Restaurants, which owns the eight Tri-Cities McDonald’s franchises, said many people have requested all-day breakfast in-store as well. He feels the menu’s wider variety will mean everyone can be satisfied at lunch time, whether they are craving lunch or a wishing for a late breakfast.
Salyer said employees have participated in training courses and during the soft launch, employees seem to be adapting well. Additional biscuit makers have been hired and scheduled to accommodate the increasing demand for biscuits throughout the day, he said.
