It is time for pets to sport their spookiest attire in East Tennessee Spay and Neuter’s 4th annual Howl-o-ween Spooktacular.
On Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., pets are invited to participate in a costume contest, professional photo shoot and other activities at Elizabethton Tractor Supply.
The event is one of the two largest fundraisers for ETSN’s local programs like the food pantry, low-cost spay and neuter programs and educational outreach.
Entry into the costume contest will be $1 per pet, and a cat and dog first place winner will each receive a gift basket.
Some of ETSN Executive Director Danika Nadzan’s favorite costumes in previous years have been a dog dressed like a shark was eating it, a dachshund in a skeleton outfit, a dog as a frog and a cat costumed as a witch.
Professional photographer Rebecca Marr will be present to take photos of pets for only $5.
Pet owners will enjoy freshly baked pizza from Fire in the Hole Pizza’s portable oven, followed by treats from the Spooky Bake Sale.
To further tempt the tastebuds, patrons may indulge in cotton candy, shaved ice and deep fried Oreos.
Several vendors will be present including Rada Cutlery and Origami Owl.
The Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter will also be there, with animals for adoption.
