It has been a busy week at Elizabethton this week and the Cyclone JV team was looking to keep the momentum running high as they squared off with the Science Hill Hilltoppers at Citizens Bank Stadium.

Elizabethton put together two solid scoring drives to earn a 14-0 victory on Thursday evening.

The first score came with 18 seconds left to play in the first half when Carter Everett connected on a 40-yard screen pass to Austin Outland, giving the Cyclones a 6-0 lead at the half when the point-after was blocked.

‘Betsy put the game away when Alijah Egolf continued his solid play by toting the pigskin 30 yards for another Cyclone score.

Head coach Josh Boatman elected to go for the two point conversion and the gamble paid off as the Cyclones converted to give the final 14-0 score.

The ‘Toppers couldn’t put together anything effective to get on the board as the Cyclone defense rose to the occasion in stuffing the ‘Toppers.

The JV will be back in action when they host West Greene on Monday October 19 at 6 p.m.
