Glenda Taylor DeLawder

Glenda Taylor DeLawder, 72, of Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. She was born in Carter County to the late Carnie Taylor and Fay Honeycutt Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Chester DeLawder, and her sister, Pat Rigney.
Glenda was a 1961 graduate of Unaka High School and a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. She was a phone operator with AT&T in Washington, D.C. and an avid animal lover. Glenda donated to several organizations.
Those left to cherish her memory include her siblings, Bobby Taylor and wife Charlotte, Johnson City, Javy Taylor and wife Ann and Estill Taylor and wife Ruby, all of Elizabethton, Dallis Knight, Green Castle, Pa., and Sherry Miller, Elizabethton; one brother-in-law, Edward Rigney, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Glenda Taylor DeLawder will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, November 16, in the Ensor Cemetery with Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the Ensor Cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Monday. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Lauri Vance, Barbara Campbell, Anna Phillips, Tammy Ellison, Susie Mullenix and Amedysis Hospice.
