Police are investigating a report of vandalism at a local church.
On Thursday afternoon, Carter County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jason Mosier responded to Horseshoe Baptist Church after one of the church members called 911 to report the church had been vandalized.
When Mosier arrived at the scene, he spoke with church member Diane Whitehead Bishop who said some time during the night on Wednesday someone broke a window out in the church.
“We were able to make entry into the church through the busted window,” Mosier said, adding it appeared nothing had been taken and nothing else had been vandalized. “I did observe blood in the kitchen of the church, which appeared to be from the suspect cutting themselves while climbing through the window. It appeared the suspect only lit candles.”
