Investigators are asking for the public to help them identify this man, who police say robbed a local convenience store while armed with a utility knife.


Police are investigating the armed robbery of a city business last week and are asking the public to provide help in identifying the suspect.
Investigators with the Elizabethton Police Department are working solve an aggravated robbery at Zoomerz Convenience Store, located at 701 Broad Street in Elizabethton that happened on Tuesday, Jan. 26
EPD Capt. Joy Shoun said around 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 26, a man entered the store, brandished a utility knife and demanded money, which the store clerk gave to him.
“The suspect fled the area on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash,” Shoun said. “Evidence obtained at the scene suggests that the suspect may have entered a vehicle parked nearby and left the area.”
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. The witness described him as wearing glasses and having dark brown or possibly red hair. At the time of the robbery the man was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, dark colored jacket, a hat, and dark colored pants.
Investigators were able to obtain an image of the suspect from the store’s security camera system and is releasing it to the public in hopes of identifying the man.
