Margaret “Peggy” Carriger, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Donna Jane Smalling Scalf.
Mrs. Carriger was a homemaker. She was a member of Carter Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances L. Scalf and Betty Jane Scalf Church.
Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Gerald Wayne Carriger; two sons, Michael Carriger and wife Julie, Fredericksburg, Va., and Mark Alan Carriger, Destin, Fla.; her grandchildren, Christian M. Carriger, Orion Carriger, Nicholas Carriger and Kelly Michelle Carriger; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Mrs. Carriger will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 8, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Dr. Chris Rollston and Mr. Tom Caraway, ministers, officiating.
