Robert “Bobby” Polly

Robert “Bobby” Polly, 59, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016, at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Charles Edward and Joe Ann Nave Polly.
Mr. Polly was an electronic technician at FOG Enterprises and he enjoyed working with all of his co-workers. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Polly was of the Baptist faith. He collected NASCAR memorabilia and was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved camping with his brother-in-law, Jim McAllister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Polly and George Polly, and a sister, Kathy Daugherty.
Those left to cherish his memory include a sister, Ann McAllister and her husband Jim, Jonesborough; an aunt, Judy Nave, Livingston, Tenn.; a nephew, David McAllister, Johnson City; five nieces, Kim Martin, Jonesborough, Lesley Herrell, Jonesborough, Carla Kress, Elizabethton, Amy Williams, Mount Carmel, and Jennifer Daugherty, Elizabethton; four cousins, Josh Nave, Robin Monero, Vickie Simmons and Lou Ann Buck, all of Livingston, Tenn.; and a son, Eric Hubbard.
A service to honor the life of Robert “Bobby” Polly will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Josh Nave officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 6:30 p.m. or at the residence of a sister, Ann McAllister, 244 Pleasant Valley Road, Jonesborough, Tenn., at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Elijah Martin, Micah Martin, Austin Williams and James McAllister. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Everyone attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice, especially his nurse, Emily, and to FOG Enterprise staff and co-workers for all the love and compassion shown to “Bobby” during his illness.
