Grover Bowers, 76, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2016, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness. Grover was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John Arthur Bowers and Sallie C. Williams Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Juanita Bowers, Mae Smith, Josie Buckles Hyder and Ceola Bowers, and three brothers, Floyd Bowers, Herrell Clifford Bowers and Luther Bowers.
Grover retired from Alcoa after 25 years of service and was a former employee of East Tennessee Chair Company. He was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church.
He is survived by his sister, Hildred Bowers, of the home, and several nieces and nephews.
It was his wish to be cremated and there will be no immediate services. Those who wish may sign the register book at Tetrick Funeral Home.
