Mrs. Ollie Carr Bradley, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Hillview Health Center. She was the daughter of the late Cannie and Rena Shipley Carr and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Bradley; a son, Jeff Stevenson Bradley; nine sisters, Gladys Ward, Hazel Lyons, Edith Richards, Grace Smith, Beulah Buckles, Zula Carter, Wanda Minton, Evelyn McDuffie and Lucille Brooks; three brothers, Herman Carr, Ray Carr and J.C. Carr; and a great-granddaughter, Katrina Bradley.
Mrs. Bradley was a member of Southside Christian Church. She loved to cook, work with crafts and was very creative and loved to shop. Her family gave her the most enjoyment in her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include five children, Jerry Bradley (Ann), Nancy Campbell (Ron), Randy Bradley (Linda), Sandy Bradley (Virginia), and Kathy Shipley (Rick), all of Elizabethton; nine grandchildren, Jerry Michael Bradley, Ian Bradley, R.J. “Jack” Campbell, Chris Campbell, Leann Foltz, Robbie Bradley, Nikki Bradley, Dusty Bradley and Cassie Ollis; 10 great-grandchildren, Logan Bradley, Lydia Bradley, Porter Bradley, Keaton Campbell, Elaina Campbell, Paxton Campbell, Max Foltz, Savannah Hartgrove, Abigail Bradley and Chloie Ollis; and one sister, Ann Dula, Elizabethton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Bradley will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Michael Koruschak, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Charles Dugger, pianist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Hillview Health Center for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Bradley and her family during her time there.
