Heritage Baptist Church of Johnson City will host a Matthew 22:21 Conference Tuesday, April 14.
A morning session for pastors and leaders, led by Andrew Walker will be held at 9 a.m. Walker will lead an evening session from 7 to 8 p.m. for the public.
Jack Roddy, Director of Missions for Watauga Association of Baptists, urges local church leaders to attend the conference. “The upcoming conference will be an encouragement to all concerned that Christians holding Biblical values are being shockingly marginalized and oppressed,” said Roddy.
Walker, Christian activist and scholar, is Director of Policy Studies for the Ethics and Religious Liberties Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention.
Roddy noted that the conference is not a pep rally, but a workshop providing a clearer understanding of the law and strategies for Christians desiring to speak with a stronger, clearer voice.
Heritage Baptist is located across from Science Hill High School.
