Lee Mack Swift

Lee Mack Swift, 73, of Staunton, Va., died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, while visiting family in Elizabethton, Tenn.
Mack was born in Mountain City, Tenn., son of the late Rod and June Swift, and was raised in Valley Forge, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan, of Staunton, Va.; a son, Mark, of Washington, Pa.; a daughter, Susan (Wayt), and a grandson, Liam, of Redmond, Wash.; a sister, Jackie (Alvin) McKinney, and a brother, Keith, both of Elizabethton, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews, Mike and Jeff McKinney; and his lifelong friend, Steve Williams.
Mack was a graduate of Hampton High School, a loyal alumnus of Emory & Henry College, and held degrees from East Tennessee State University and James Madison University. A renaissance man, Mack was a lifelong teacher, football coach, tennis coach, theater producer, director, actor, and a Lion’s Club member. But Mack was mostly known as Mountain Mack, a master storyteller.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Excellence in Education Scholarship at Emory & Henry College, P.O. Box 950, Emory, VA 24327.
Services, for Mack, will be held at Coffman Funeral Home in Staunton, Va.
