Five people escaped without injuries on Wednesday afternoon as a blaze consumed a home on Lovers lane. According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department a woman, her daughter and three grandchildren were at home with the blaze started. The family reported smelling smoke and when they checked they found flames behind the dryer.
