A woman arrested during the Operation Stikeout roundup carried out last week is facing additional charges after she was accused of concealing contraband and taking it into the jail.
April Lawon Campbell, 33, 1044 Poga Road, Butler, is now also charged with possession of schedule II drugs, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and introduction of contraband in a penal institution in addition to the charges of promotion of meth manufacture, initiation of a process to manufacture meth and maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are manufactured that were placed against her last Wednesday, May 21.
According to the arrest report, corrections officers received a note from another inmate shortly after midnight on Thursday that Campbell was in possession of methamphetamine. Campbell was moved to an isolated room so a pat-down and strip search could be conducted.
According to the report, during a search in the presence of additional officers, a glass vial with a black lid was retrieved and found to contain one broken white pill and a piece of plastic containing white residue.
The report said Campbell told corrections officers the pill was “Seroquel”, a medicine used to treat mental disorders.
The piece of plastic was tested and tested positive for methamphetamine, the report said.
