Ella Mae Clawson

Ella Mae Clawson, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., and formerly of Mountain City, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was born on August 6, 1932 to the late Wintford and Lola Proffitt Duvall. In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clawson, and a sister, Pearl Duvall.
Prior to her declining health, Ella enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and also enjoyed watching the wild animals around her home. She loved for her family and friends to visit her and was especially proud of her grandchildren. She loved and was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
She attended Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Ella is survived by her children, Cathy Clawson and special friend, Ron Pendleton, Lytha Clawson and special friend, Bret Wilson, Norman Clawson and Timmy Clawson; grandchildren, MSGT Travis Clawson and wife Jamie, Elizabeth Clawson, Jesse Bradley and Laura Franklin and husband Roger; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alex, Conner and Hunter; special cousins, Velda and Norman; and all of her special friends at Pine Ridge Nursing Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, in the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Mountain City Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leslie Morgan, Ron Pendleton, Bret Wilson and friends. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 239 Applewood Private Lane, Mountain City, Tenn. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Pine Ridge Nursing Home for all of their kindness and care given to Ella during the past several years.
