Nadine S. Lambert

Mrs. Nadine S. Lambert, 86, of Johnson City, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, at Asbury Center of Johnson City following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Rady and Mamie Waykaster Simerly and was born in the Valley Forge Community of Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Hyder, and a son, Dicky Hyder.
Mrs. Lambert was retired from NARC, having been employed for 56 years as a lab technician. She was a member of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church in Johnson City where she loved singing in the choir. She was a member of the Johnson City Women’s Club and the Johnson City Business and Professional Women’s Club. She volunteered at the James H. Quillen Veteran’s Administration.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by her husband, Glenn Lambert, of the home; a son, Steve Hyder and his wife, Judy, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Stacy Reece and her husband, Jesse, Johnson City, Steven Hyder Jr. and his wife, Melinda, Elizabethton, and Chuck Dalton, Kingsport; three great-grandchildren, Leah Hyder, Kingsport, Zackery Hyder, Elizabethton, and Autumn Hyder, Elizabethton; two great-great-grandchildren, Eli Reece, Johnson City, and Elizabeth Reece, Johnson City; a brother, Ray Simerly and his wife, Barbara, Elizabethton; a sister, Kathleen Grindstaff, Elizabethton; and a nephew, Kenneth Grindstaff and his wife, Helen, Bristol. Her special friend and caregiver, Karen D’Lugos, also survives.
The funeral service for Mrs. Lambert will be conducted at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Mike Tyson, Rev. Jeff Alford and Rev. Macil Duncan officiating. Music will be under the direction of Claude and Barbara Duncan and Janice Stone. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, or at the home at anytime. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steven Hyder, Zackery Hyder, Stacy Reece, Eli Reece, Elizabeth Reece and Chuck Dalton. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
