Irene Oliver Taylor

Irene Oliver Taylor, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Hermitage Health Care.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Maggie Nidiffer Oliver.
Mrs. Taylor was retired from Quick Cleaners. She loved children and worked in the nursery at Hunter First Baptist Church where she was a member.
Her hobbies were working in her garden, her flowers and crocheting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. Taylor, who died June 23, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jewell and Douglas Graham, Elizabethton; two grandsons, Evan Graham and Ryan Graham and his fiancée Brooke Shelton; four sisters, June Collins and husband Maxwell, Elizabethton, Marilyn Bell, Columbus, Ga., Martine Lewis, and Shirley Morrell and husband Harold, all of Elizabethton; and five brothers, Gerald Oliver and wife Sue, Larry Oliver and wife Nyoka, Lanny Oliver and wife Peggy, Odell Oliver and Steve Oliver, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with her son-in-law, Douglas Graham, officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckles Cemetery with Mr. Gerald Oliver officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Care for the excellent care she received during her stay there. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with her family at her residence.
