Mrs. Helen Ann Shipley, 78, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Walker Bowman.
Mrs. Shipley retired as a shipping clerk from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Kingsport Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jack Shipley.
Survivors include a son, David Ellis, Elizabethton; a daughter, Connie Ellis Graham and her husband Shields, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Lilly Ellis and Joey Graham and his wife Halee, all of Elizabethton, and Brittani Graham, Bristol, Tenn.; and a great-grandson, Caiden Graham, Elizabethton.
Graveside services for Mrs. Shipley will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 21, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Chaplain Adam Page officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:20 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter, Connie Ellis Graham, 147 Old Lacy Hollow Road, Elizabethton, Tenn., from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter, 135 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
