Pine Oaks Golf Course PGA professional Mike Jennings is always looking at ways of getting young people involved in golf, and his idea that he will be implementing on July 26th may do the trick.

The South Johnson City golf course near the Carter County line is having a Junior Golf Club giveaway this coming Saturday from 10 a.m. till noon for kids the ages of 6-16.

Most of the clubs will probably be used, but in good shape. The function is basically to get kids involved in playing golf at a younger age.

“We are giving away clubs for free to anyone interested and give kids access to this sport,” Jennings said. “This is a good opportunity for kids to get the equipment they need.”
