Kenneth Fred Holden

Kenneth Fred Holden, 64, Johnson City, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, July 21, 2014, at the residence of his cousin and her husband, Elaine and Mike Babb. He was born in Johnson City, a son of the late Fred May and Della Ruth Freeman Holden.
Mr. Holden was a retired truck driver from H.T. Hackney Company after 44 years of service. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, stationed at the DMZ in Korea. He was a member of the Unity Fellowship Church, Elizabethton, where he had served as an Elder and Deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Carolyn Holden.
Survivors include a brother, Steven Holden, Johnson City. and his cousins, Elaine and Mike Babb, Elizabethton, Clifford and Brenda Freeman, Jonesborough, Jerry and Kay Freeman and Christine Jefferson, all of Johnson City.
Funeral services for Mr. Holden will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, with the Rev. Greg Wagner officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Elaine and Mike Babb and the staff of Amedisys Hospice. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of Mike and Elaine Babb, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery.
