Elva Nell McKinney Oxendine, 83, of Concord, N.C., passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, N.C.
A native of Beckley, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Fonce and Daisse Cook McKinney.
Mrs. Oxendine had lived in Concord for 40 years. She was a Free Will Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Charles William Oxendine Jr.; two daughters, Lisa Rhinehart, of the home, and Sonia Jenkins and husband Cecil, Concord, N.C.; a son, Charles William Oxendine III and wife Karrie, Mt. Pleasant, N.C.; a step-daughter, Sherry Freeman, Elk Park, N.C.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; a sister, Ann, Blacksburg, Va.; and a brother, Ray McKinney of West Virginia.
Graveside services for Mrs. Oxendine will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 1, in the McKinney Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Thursday. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
