Daniel M. Potter, 71, of Roan Mountain, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 11, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Daniel was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Toney and Anna Mae Ashley Potter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Potter.
Mr. Potter was a former equipment operator and attended High Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Perry Potter, of the home; three sons, Daniel Potter Jr. and wife Shannon, Tony Potter and Brian Potter and his companion, Kathy Johnson, all of Roan Mountain; six grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew, Zachary, Mekala, Madison and Myckenzie; and two sisters, Mamie Harrison and Edna Canter, both of Roan Mountain.
A visitation service for Mr. Potter will be conducted from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, August 15, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain. The graveside service will follow in the Isaac Cemetery in Roan Mountain with Pastor Jim Story officiating. Active pallbearers will be Charlie Potter, Casey Bowles, Randy Campbell, David Harrison, Scotty Potter and Eddie Guinn. Honorary pallbearers will be David Thompson, Kenneth Campbell and Jerry Potter. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Tetrick Funeral Home, 211 N. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 to help with funeral expenses.
