An Elizabethton man reported his motorcycle stolen Wednesday, and his neighbor reported receiving an earlier offer of $100 from an unknown man to steal the bike.
David Cole, Birch Street, Elizabethton, reported to Elizabethton Police Department Officer Kenneth Lowe that his 2007 Honda CRF80F dirt bike had been stolen from his backyard. Cole said the bike had been taken sometime between Monday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Cole’s neighbor told police he had been approached by an unknown man asking him to steal the motorcycle and offering to pay the neighbor $100. The neighbor described the man as in his mid-40s, around 130 pounds and between 5’9’ and 6-foot tall. The unknown man reportedly told the neighbor his name was “Bub.”
The neighbor said he declined the offer to steal the dirt bike.
The dirt bike is red with black-and-white accents, and has a clamp on the clutch handle.
